Pikud HaOref App: how to download, set your area, and follow alerts
Pikud HaOref, the Israel Home Front Command, runs the official emergency alert app for civilians in Israel. It delivers alerts by location and gives instructions during emergencies.
How to download the app
Install the official Home Front Command app from your phone’s app store:

Search for “Home Front Command” or “Pikud HaOref” and install the official app only.
How to set alerts for your zone
After installation, open the app and set your location.
Use the location settings to choose the area where you live, work, or spend time regularly. The app sends alerts based on the zone you select.
Do this for all places that matter to you:

- work
- children’s school or daycare
- any other place where you spend time often

When the app sends an alert, act at once:
- Read the instruction.
- Move to the protected area.
- Stay there until the alert ends or the app gives the next instruction.
If you are outdoors, go to the nearest protected place. If you are inside, follow the app’s shelter instructions for your location.
