Find a shelter before an emergency, not during one. Here are all the ways to do it.
Home Front Command App
The official app is available on iOS and Android in several languages, including English.
What it does:
- Shows the nearest shelters on a GPS map
- Sends notifications for alerts in your area
- Works in real time
Search for «פיקוד העורף» or «Home Front Command Israel» in your app store.
Enable notifications and location access — otherwise alerts will not reach you.
Phone 106
Call 106 — this is the hotline for finding the nearest public shelter (miklat). Available 24/7.
oref.org.il Website
On the official website oref.org.il, enter your address to see the nearest shelters on a map.
Yellow-Green Signs on the Street
Every shelter entrance has a yellow-green sign with the shelter symbol. Take note of them in your neighborhood before an emergency.
Google Maps / Apple Maps
Search for «מקלט» (miklat) — the nearest shelters will appear on the map.
Key Advice
Find the nearest shelter right now. Walk there once and remember the route. There is no time to think during an alert.
